Ramanand Sagar's 'Shri Krishna' (6):- Mohini Avtaar

The story continues from the saagar manthan episode. When the asuras got the 'amrit' and left with it, the gods went to the LORD and asked HIM a way to save the divine Amrit. Then the LORD appeared to the asuras as a beautiful woman - MOHINI . Mesmerized by HER charm, the asuras gave away the nectar to MOHINI to distribute it between the gods and asuras according to her own wish. As she started distributing the Amrit among the gods, one asur maned Rahu noticed that, changed his appeearance and went to the side of the gids to have the amrit. Gods caught him. Now Mohini appeared as Lord Vishnu and cut Rahu's head with his Surdarshan chakra. Asuras felt deceived. thus a great war started between gods and asuras which came to be known as ‘Dev-Asur sangram ‘.

Afterwards --
(we need to know this part of the story to relate it to next avtaars of the LORD ) –

Gods were powerful because of the 'Amrit ' and won the battle ('Dev-Asur sangram ). The king of Asuras- raja Bali, was also killed in the war. But the demon guru Shukracharya had the knowledge of Sanjeevani. After the war, he brought back to life all the asuras (including raja Bali ) who died during the war.

Here , we also get the information that - Kaalnemi (an asura) was killed in this war . He was born again as king Kansa in Mathura , and died in the hands of Lord Krishna.

'Shri Krishna Stuti': 2 Songs from Ramanand Saagar's 'Shri Krishna'

Dear Friends, today I am posting two of my most favourite songs from the TV Serial 'Shri Krishna'. Both the songs have these words- 'Shri Krishna Govinda Hare Muraare' ... and the Music is also the same.... The first one is from the scene when Shri Krishna comes to the womb of Devaki, all the god along with Brahmaji and Naaradji come to sing the glory of the Lord! That moment conveys the joy of the coming of the Lord on this earth! I always feel the happiness inside while listening to it. This is the video of the sequence (Uploaded by Dear Sister Lola) : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=83UELX4Fnn4 The lyrics along with its English Translation was originally posted by Lola in 'India Forums': Narayanaya Namo Namah, Parmeshwaraya Namo Namah - we bow to you, God Y'asmin Sthitah Jagat Sarvam, Sa Janani Garbhe Sthitah- you, within whom the whole universe resides, now reside in this mother's womb Nirakaarah Ajanmayo, So Vayi Sa Karmagatah - formless, unborn, s...

'Hari Haraye Namah Krishna'

This is a very famous and old stotra on Shri Krishna. I heard it for the first time in the film 'Aagantuk'. Utpal Dutt was reciting this stotra, the original voice was of Satyajit Ray's, I think. But there the stotra remained incomplete as the next events of the film started taking place. From then, I always wanted to listen the full stotra along with reading it. Very recently I came to the audio track of the same and got the lyrics on internet. It has 10 stanzas, written by Narottam Das. Above the post I have given the vidoe of the song from YouTube, and here is the lyrics, and the English translation (which I got from the internet, credit goes to the original writer who posted the lyrics). (1) Hari haraye namah krishna yadavaya namah Yadavaya madhavaya kesavaya namah (2) Gopala govinda rama sri-madhusudana Giridhari gopinatha madana-mohana (3) Sri-caitanya-nityananda sri-advaita-sita Hari guru vaishnava bhagavata gita (4) Sri-rupa sanatana bhatta-...
