'Sabson Unchi Prem Sagaai'- Song from B R Chopra's Mahabharat

This is one of my most favourite song from B R Chopra's Mahabharat. It is written by the great poet Surdas where he tells about the greatness of the Lord.

You can find the song by searching with the name of the song on YouTube.

Here is the lyrics and English Translation:-

Sabson (Sabse) unchi prem sagaai, Sabson (Sabse) unchi prem sagaai;
Of all forms of worship of the Lord, love is the highest.

(1) Duryodhan ke meva tyaage, Duryodhan ke meva tyaage;
Saag Vidur ghar khaai,
Lord Krishna renounced the delicacies that Duryodhana offered, and ate vegetables at Vidura’s house.
Sabson unchi prem sagaai....

(2) Jhoothe phal Sabri ke khaaye, Jhoothe phal Sabri ke khaaye;
Bahu vidhi swaad bataai,
As Lord Ramchandra, He ate fruits which were already filled with love from Sabari.
 Sabson unchi prem sagaai....

(3) Prem ke bas ripu seva kinhi, Prem ke bas ripu seva kinhi;
Aap bane Hari naai (??),
Love is indeed the best way to serve and please the Lord.
Sabson unchi prem sagaai....

(4) Raajsuyagya Yudhishthir kinho, Raajsuyagya Yudhishthir kinho;
Taame jhooth uthaai,
In Maharaja Yuddhistira’s Rajasuya Yajna sacrifice, Lord Krsna served the Brahmanas and picked up their eating utensils.
Sabson unchi prem sagaai....

(5) Prem ke bas Paarath rath haankyo, Prem ke bas Paarath rath haankyo;
Bhul gaye thakuraai,
Out of pure love for Arjuna, He took the position of being his charioteer, and He forgot that He was the Lord.
Sabson unchi prem sagaai....

(6) Aisi preeti badhi Vrindaavan, Aisi preeti badhi Vrindaavan;
Gopinh naach nachaai,
Such love did Lord Krishna portray in Vrindavana when He danced with the Gopis in the Rasa Lila.
Sabson unchi prem sagaai....

(7) Sur krur ihi laayak naahi, Sur krur ihi laayak naahi;
Kah lagi karon badaai (??),
The cruel/ harsh Suradas is not worthy to praise the merciful and magnanimous Lord.
Sabson unchi prem sagaai....

Duryodhan ke meva tyaage, Duryodhan ke meva tyaage;
Saag Vidur ghar khaai,
Sabson unchi prem sagaai....
Unchi prem sagaai......
Unchi prem sagaai......

Jai Shri Krishna.

'Hari Haraye Namah Krishna'

This is a very famous and old stotra on Shri Krishna. I heard it for the first time in the film 'Aagantuk'. Utpal Dutt was reciting this stotra, the original voice was of Satyajit Ray's, I think. But there the stotra remained incomplete as the next events of the film started taking place. From then, I always wanted to listen the full stotra along with reading it. Very recently I came to the audio track of the same and got the lyrics on internet. It has 10 stanzas, written by Narottam Das. Above the post I have given the vidoe of the song from YouTube, and here is the lyrics, and the English translation (which I got from the internet, credit goes to the original writer who posted the lyrics). (1) Hari haraye namah krishna yadavaya namah Yadavaya madhavaya kesavaya namah (2) Gopala govinda rama sri-madhusudana Giridhari gopinatha madana-mohana (3) Sri-caitanya-nityananda sri-advaita-sita Hari guru vaishnava bhagavata gita (4) Sri-rupa sanatana bhatta-...
