Ramanand Sagar's 'Shri Krishna' (4):- Matsya Avtaar

Following the tradition of  'Shrimad Bhaagwat' , before starting the tales of Krishna , the stories of all the previous incarnations of LORD VISHNU are shown in the serial . So, now I am starting to narrate the stories one by one, as shown in 'Shri Krishna' serial.

We find about king SATYAVRAT in the tale of Matsya Avtaar . he was a noble king . One day when he was bathing in the river, he found one small fish asking for shelter. Satyavrat assured the fish that it can have ‘enough space’ in his palace and took it with him. But as he kept it in water, it started increasing it’s size very rapidly. The king became very confused and decided to return it to the river.

When he went to the river, he asked the fish about its true identity . Then LORD VISHNU appeared. King Satyavrat was amazed!

LORD VISHNU said that a deluge is going to take place. The king will have the responsibility of saving the lives of the famous seven sages, the minute bodies (‘sookshma sharir’) of all the living beings and crops with him on a large boat. Except them, the whole world will perish in that fierce storm. Then the LORD‘s Matsya avatar will come to help them . HE will pull the boat over the sea as long as the storm will last . then HE will enlighten Satyavrat with Divine Knowledge so that he will be able to realize the SUPREME SOUL .

After seven days, everything happened as Lord VISHNU narrated to the king. After the deluge was over , king Satyavrat came to be known as Manu and carried on the the new world for a long time.

Here we have a song-

"Pralay ki aandhi shanat hui, aur nauka laagi kinaare,
Manu prithvi par nav jeevan naya sanskriti liye padhaare. "

'Hari Haraye Namah Krishna'

This is a very famous and old stotra on Shri Krishna. I heard it for the first time in the film 'Aagantuk'. Utpal Dutt was reciting this stotra, the original voice was of Satyajit Ray's, I think. But there the stotra remained incomplete as the next events of the film started taking place. From then, I always wanted to listen the full stotra along with reading it. Very recently I came to the audio track of the same and got the lyrics on internet. It has 10 stanzas, written by Narottam Das. Above the post I have given the vidoe of the song from YouTube, and here is the lyrics, and the English translation (which I got from the internet, credit goes to the original writer who posted the lyrics). (1) Hari haraye namah krishna yadavaya namah Yadavaya madhavaya kesavaya namah (2) Gopala govinda rama sri-madhusudana Giridhari gopinatha madana-mohana (3) Sri-caitanya-nityananda sri-advaita-sita Hari guru vaishnava bhagavata gita (4) Sri-rupa sanatana bhatta-...
