Ramanand Sagar's 'Shri Krishna' (2):- Narad's Lesson about Pride

Today we will read a story about How Krishna purifies His devotees thr' tests and trials:-

Watch it here:

As mentioned in my previous post - NARAD met Bhakti mata and came to know about her problem , HE wanted to help her by asking KRISHNA about it . Bhakti wanted to know – how NARAD will be able to find the LORD ? As HE can be in any place of the whole creation doing miracles !

But NARAD was confident and said that it is very easy for HIM to find the LORD , because HIS real self always remains in HIS abode – GOLOKA . In fact, it is not difficult for NARAD to visit any place at will.

But when he started his journey, he became confused – he crossed all the universe, still could not find out the way to GOLOKA.

Witnessing all this, KRISHNA explained to RADHA that NARAD started his journey with pride , so he must get rid of it as soon as possible . HE also said that NARAD is very dear to HIM , so this is done for NARAD’S welfare. For this reason, the LORD is also called 'Bhaktabatsal' by HIS devotees.

After Wandering for a long time , NARAD became tired and realized his fault. He asked for forgiveness from the LORD and sincerely asked HIM to show the right way as he was seeking refuge in the LORD.

Hearing this, KRISHNA became very happy and went ahead to receive NARAD and explained - when a devotee comes to HIM without pride , then HE welcomes him personally! Thus, while NARAD was praying to KRISHNA with closed eyes, suddenly after opening his eyes, he found himself in HIS abode – GOLOKA ! Then they started discussing about the solution of Bhakti Mata's problem.

From this story , we came to know how KRISHNA made NARAD free from his pride, made him a more Pure Devotee than his previous self.

Jai Shri Krishna!

'Hari Haraye Namah Krishna'

This is a very famous and old stotra on Shri Krishna. I heard it for the first time in the film 'Aagantuk'. Utpal Dutt was reciting this stotra, the original voice was of Satyajit Ray's, I think. But there the stotra remained incomplete as the next events of the film started taking place. From then, I always wanted to listen the full stotra along with reading it. Very recently I came to the audio track of the same and got the lyrics on internet. It has 10 stanzas, written by Narottam Das. Above the post I have given the vidoe of the song from YouTube, and here is the lyrics, and the English translation (which I got from the internet, credit goes to the original writer who posted the lyrics). (1) Hari haraye namah krishna yadavaya namah Yadavaya madhavaya kesavaya namah (2) Gopala govinda rama sri-madhusudana Giridhari gopinatha madana-mohana (3) Sri-caitanya-nityananda sri-advaita-sita Hari guru vaishnava bhagavata gita (4) Sri-rupa sanatana bhatta-...
